Ultimate Hospital Bag Checklist for Labor & Delivery

Preparing your hospital bag for labor and delivery is one of the most important steps as you approach your due date. This comprehensive checklist covers everything you’ll need for a smooth stay—whether you’re planning a vaginal birth or a C-section.

This hospital bag checklist includes essentials for delivery, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, newborn care, and partner support.

Organized into clear sections—mom essentials, baby essentials, documents, toiletries, clothing, tech, snacks, and optional extras. It also includes vaginal delivery vs. C-section packing differences, helping parents prepare based on birth plan and medical guidance

When to Pack Your Hospital Bag

Most doctors and midwives recommend packing between 32–35 weeks.
If you’re expecting twins, have a high-risk pregnancy, or have been advised that early labor is possible, pack earlier—around 28–30 weeks.
